This autumn, Loro Piana takes New York by storm, quietly, of course. From October 17 to November 3, 2025, the Italian Maison transformed Bergdorf Goodman into a living archive of its craftsmanship and heritage. This exclusive installation isn’t a display for shoppers to pass by; it’s a statement about how legacy, material, and imagination can coexist in one of the world’s most dynamic cities.

The installation celebrates Loro Piana’s long-standing relationship with New York, a city that has shaped the Maison’s international identity. Back in 1994, Sergio and Pier Luigi Loro Piana opened their first concept store here, a space that introduced the brand’s understated philosophy to American sensibilities. This year’s installation marks a full-circle moment, turning Bergdorf Goodman into a visual conversation between Italian precision and New York ambition.

A Facade That Moves

The exterior of Bergdorf Goodman’s women’s store has been transformed into a digital landscape that feels alive. The animation begins with a Mongolian horizon, tracing the birthplace of Loro Piana’s world-famous cashmere. From there, it transitions into a field of thistle flowers before morphing into the Quarona factory in Italy, the heart of the brand’s production.

A single thread weaves its way through the story, circling the globe until it arrives in New York, where a Loro Piana truck carrying raw fibers travels across the facade. The animation concludes as the city’s skyline shifts into the outline of Bergdorf Goodman itself. The result is a dynamic light display that transforms the building’s architecture into a storytelling canvas, a rare example of retail merging with narrative design.

Craft in Real Time

Inside the store, visitors are invited to experience Loro Piana’s craft firsthand. The personalization service offers the Grande Unita scarf and Unito blanket, embroidered on-site by skilled artisans. Shoppers can choose from a spectrum of thread colors as their initials are stitched into pure cashmere, a subtle but powerful reminder of the brand’s dedication to craftsmanship and individuality.

At the same time, Bergdorf Goodman became the pre-launch site for Loro Piana’s Holiday 2025 Collection. Among the standout pieces is a tonal grey cashmere ensemble paired with an animal-print cloche hat, balancing the brand’s signature minimalism with a hint of bold expression. Every piece echoes what the Maison stands for, refinement that doesn’t need validation.

The New York Connection

Loro Piana’s partnership with Bergdorf Goodman runs deep. The Maison opened its first U.S. office in 1989, followed by the concept store in 1994 between Park and Madison Avenues. Bergdorf soon began carrying its accessories, eventually dedicating a permanent corner to the brand. The 2025 collaboration reaffirms this shared history, a union of Italian discretion and New York energy.

At its core, the installation is a celebration of continuity. It reflects how tradition evolves when placed in new contexts and how luxury can stay modern without losing its essence. Loro Piana doesn’t chase attention; it earns it through material honesty, technical mastery, and a calm confidence that stands out in a world obsessed with spectacle.

In a city built on movement, this installation offers a pause. Not to look back, but to recognize that some stories age with precision, just like good design.
